Kirton Kayaks is one of the longest established canoe/kayak manufacturers in the UK, where the high quality of it's boats has been recognised since the mid 1960s.
The MD David Green is well known throughout the canoeing world his face is regularly seen at international regattas and marathons events where he is happy to carry out his honorary role of scrutineer. Still an active marathon paddler himself in which aspect of the sport he is a pioneer, having raced in events since the 1950s, he is a former British team member.
His management style is strictly hands on, "Our laminators are highly experienced each with over 20 years experience in the business", David enthuses," Never the less I always walk around the factory a couple of times a day at least and by examining the performance of the different materials and working practises we are able to carry out our policy of continual improvement".
So it is that whilst many newcomers have arrived on the canoe manufacturing scene since the pioneering days, Kirton Kayaks continue to be at the forefront of technological and design developments and their high standards are those by which the other manufacturers are judged.
